For the best results for your patient, we always suggest sending us upper and lower models or scans with a bite registration or bite scan in centric position or open occlusally to the desired vertical dimension.

Our occlusal splints can be used to aid patients in all types of situations such as TMJ, bruxism, clenching and restoration protection.

We can manufacture occlusal splints in all types of designs including flat plane, Michigan design, Small Anterior (such as NTI splints), Gelb and Tanner.

Thermodynamic Hard Splint Benefits

Thermodynamic hard splints are single layer occlusal splints which are best for providing robust protection against severe teeth grinding (bruxism), especially for moderate to severe bruxers, and for protecting dental restorations from damage caused by clenching. While they may be less comfortable than soft splints, their hard acrylic composition offers greater durability and stability, keeping the jaw in a neutral position.

These splints are made of thermoplastic material that softens with heat. When heated (e.g., in hot water), they become pliable and can be molded directly to the patient’s teeth. Once cooled, they retain the custom shape for improved comfort and retention.

Talon Splints

Talon splints are dual layer and best for treating bruxism (teeth grinding) and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, combining the benefits of a hard and soft splint. They offer excellent retention and comfort due to their thermoplastic (shape-changing) material that bonds to a hard acrylic surface, preventing teeth wear and providing a stable bite for jaw muscles. The inner layer (Talon) is a thermoactive material which When heated (e.g., in hot water), they become pliable and can be molded directly to the patient’s teeth. Once cooled, they will harden for great retention.
